SET A
1. What
signs have you seen that this will be a film about the Holocaust?
2. Why do you
think the director chose to have Guido die at the end of the film? How would it be different if he
did not die? How does the director
film Guido’s death? Why is this scene so powerful?
SET B
3. Why does
Guido set up the game for Joshua? What is he hoping to accomplish?
4. What
is the significance of the title, “Life is Beautiful”? Why did they choose this
title?
Set A:-
ReplyDelete1) a) In the beginning Ferrucio, Guido's best friend says that he is liberated and has left behind his chains.
b) When Guido disguises himself as the inspector from Rome and goes to elementary school to see Dora. The principal speaks about the "Proclamation of Race" also known in real world as " Manifesto of Race " or Racial Manifesto.
c) The slogans "Fascista Perfetto" ( the perfect fascist) "Libro E Moschetto" (Books and Rifle meaning Studying and fighting).
d) The paint on the horse " Achtung! Cavallo ebreo " meaning Jewish horse painted by the Nazi sympathizers.
e) The sign outside the cake shop reading " Vietata Lingresso Agli Ebrei E Ai Cani" meaning no entry for Jews and dogs.
f) The Nazi symbol on the wall when Dr. Lessing gives an important riddle to Guido.
2) The director chose Guido to die at the end so the movies climax would be more emotional, to portray a fathers sacrifice for his child and also to show what crazy things a man can do for the person he loves. If Guido didn't die in the end then he would have been reunited with his wife and son, also he would be grieving for his dead uncle. Guido's death is not shown directly in the movie. A soldier scouts Guido to a secluded place then we hear gunshots, only to find that the soldier alone returns leaving Guido dead. In the scene of Guido's death , though he knows that he will be killed soon he winks and smiles at his son who is hiding and walks in a funny way. Guido died yet his made up competition stories helped Giosue to live and think that he got 1St place in the competition with 1000 points and a tank as gift. This is how Guido made his son realize that life is beautiful.

ReplyDelete3. Guido created this elaborate game so that he can protect and shield his son from the brutalities of the Holocaust and also from the realty of the world they exist in . This can also be seen in a previous scene when Giosue asks his father why that particular shop did not allow Jews and dogs in and Guido explains to Giosue that it's just that the owner of the shop did not like Jews. Guido did not want these incidents to traumatize his son's childhood which might haunt him for the rest of the years. He hoped to show his son that life is beautiful and that there's more to life than what is seen. With his acts and sacrifice Guido tells us that even is life is hard right now, it would definitely become good one day.
4. Guido is introduced to us as clever and comical person who wants to start a bookstore in Italy. He temporarily works as a waiter in his uncles restaurant until he gets the permission to open his bookstore. Soon he meets Dora, wins over her heart and they start a small, beautiful family. The first half of the film portrays the happy life of Guido. Through the entire film we are slowly descending into the horrors of the Holocaust. We can see that even during the initial stages of the war when Guido and his uncle were humiliated, Guido doesn't take it to his heart. Once they were taken into the concentration camps, Guido sets up a game for his son and thus protects him. Throughout the film we can see that it's perceptive and positive thinking that makes life beautiful. Even through all the cruelties that Guido faced, he always had a happy face for his son. He showed to us that life can be beautiful irrespective of the situation if we have to eyes to see it.

ReplyDelete3)Guido was trying to shield his son from catastrophic events in Nazi concentration camps. If the son had known the reality, the memory would have haunted him till the end of his days. So Guido created an elaborate game for Joshua. He used the tank as a gift to Joshua in pursuit and wanted him to work his way up to 1,000 points. Despite the fact that Guido did not survive the camp, he managed to hide the horrors from his son.
4) The Jews survived the tough times in their lives. All along, Guido never forgets to be happy. Guido puts himself in risky situations to ensure his son's safety. There is nothing more beautiful than father's love for his son. And also Guido tries in some way to reach out to the love of his life in the concentration camp and tries to give her hope. Life is not always unicorns and rainbows, but it is the difficult period we are in that makes life beautiful.
Set A:-
ReplyDelete1.In the film they show soldiers marching down the streets while guido is walking around with his son.Later on,two policemen go looking for him and take him away.Later on Guido and his family all go on a train.these were the signs that this will be a film about the Holocaust.
2.Guido death at the end of the film makes the audience disappointed. I feel that the director could have ended the film with a hopeful ending, but I feel that the director made Guido die at the film,to set back a reality in the film.I think he intentionally did so,To prove that the holocaust was indeed an extremely dark and terrible time in history of man kind. The director films Guido’s death with him going out as an optimist person and being strong for his son and wife. Guido’s death was a sacrifice and an honor for his son's(joshua) life.

3. The reason that Guido made divert Joshua and to give hope for the future and to protect him from the horrors of the concentration camp. The elaborate game also keeps Guido from losing hope . He is planning to achieve that he doesn't need Joshua to endure or fear everything that there going to live. Gudio thought that this will give some positive things to his family to overcome the situation.
4.The movie starts with Guido who was good and humorous character. He wants to start a book shop, he waiting for the permission and he working as a waiter in his uncle's restaurant . Then he met his girlfriend Dora and after some struggle they got married and gifted with a son. These part of movie shows the characterization of Guido. On his son's birthday World war II is in full force. Since they are Jewish, the Germans take away Guido and his son to a labour camp. Dora wants to be with her family, she also taken too, but she housed in the women's side of camp. To protect Joshua from the horror of what is happening to them. Guido's primary goal is to keep Joshua safe at all cost, while he tries to figure out a way to get his family out of the camp. These part of story shows the pure love of Guido to rescue his family. What type of struggle he faces he faced in a positive way and also lives a beautiful life. The moral of the movie shows life is not so easier to all we have to accept the truth and enjoy the beautiful moments of life.
3.Guido didn't want Joshua to know the truth about concentration camp because he knows the reality would hit him hard . Guido always wanted his son to be a wonderful human being so he didn't want him to get into the concept of casteism. As we all know the love Guido has for his son made him to set up a whole game of 1000 points and tank as the reward. Guido wanted his son's childhood to be beautiful as every other kid so he played a whole lot of drama.
ReplyDelete4."Life is beautiful " sounds good isn't? But is life really beautiful? Yes it is! The word beautiful doesn't only take the positive things , it does include how we overcome our negative situations and turn it into positive one.Guido the hero of the movie also hero of his son and wife who lost his life at the end of movie made this movie a beautiful one. He is easy going man with good sense of humour and most importantly he has the ability to be happy with what he has. Eventhough we think their life was not beautiful enough but the way they carried themselves in the hardship made it all beautiful.

1. Guido aims to protect his son. Guido telling his son that the activities in the concentration camp are a game enables Joshua to survive and cope with a situation that he is too young to understand. So, he immediately begins trying to protect his child’s innocence by telling him that the train ride is part of a vacation he has planned. He continues his improvisation once they reach their destination by suggesting the camp is part of a game. Thereby establishing a way he can control joshua’s behavior as well as shield Joshua from the monstrous function of the camp.
2. "Life Is Beautiful" is a funny and touching film that works best if one doesn’t take it too seriously. This may be a problem since at least half of the film deals directly with the Holocaust by taking place in a concentration camp. This film starts out as a romantic comedy and then turns in to a movie on the Holocaust. It sounds completely crazy, but it works because that’s how life is. we have our amazing moments and then we have our horrible ones. The fact that the movie is called Life is Beautiful because life is not always unicorns and rainbows, but it is the hard times that we go through that makes "Life Is Beautiful".

1. The painted horse conveying that it belongs Jewish community and when Guido and his son went to a shop that carrying a board Jews and dogs are not allowed inside, Joshua and Guido were taken up by the officers in a rude manner. children and old age people were killed. These are the signs that this will be a film about holocaust.
2.The director had chose Guido to die at the climax because he wants to make the scene so strong and powerful. He also wanted the film to be real so he made Guido to die.If he didn't die in the film it doesn't create any sentimental emotions and it also be not real. When he knew he is going to die even at that time he wanted Joshua to be happy with his comedy actions later on he was murdered by the officers.
3. Guido is a great father. We can clearly see it from the movie. He planned a game for his son in which the prize was a tank which his son was very fond off. The idea behind the prize is to keep his son focused on the game and to not let him think about what was really happening. He did all this not only to keep his son happy but to save him from the world of holocaust. He want his son to be normal and doesn't want him to be get affected by the concept of racism. At the end he just sacrificed his life to make his son's life beautiful. When we see the movie we can see there is no regret in his face. It shows nothing is more superior to him than his son and he finally succeeded.
ReplyDelete4. After watching the film the thing which would stuck our mind is whether the title the "Life is beautiful"is apt or not?. Its seems like a contradictory one. But when you have a close look at the film the way the director justified it would be amazing. Life is full of ups and down and the way we react during it and how we carry the good ones with us determines its beauty. The first half was so easy going full of happiness and love. But in second half it was totally opposite. They entered the world of holocaust. But even then the way Cudio behaved was really amazing. Even though he knew what would be the end but he didnt show that because his son's happiness is important to him. Its shows how lovable and caring he is even in the tough times. If u have noticed that he will call her wife princess even in the concentration camp and will also play their favourite song. It shows the way how he cherished his good memories even in his hard times. This good ones will help us to overcome the hurdles. Life is full of mystery so just dont get hesitated by seeing the problem, just go and face it we will definitely have a solution for it.

ReplyDelete3)Joshua has a very simple and straightforward life with wonderful parenting from Guido and his beautiful wife.Exuburent Guido has the task of single handedly managing Joshua at the camp where he knows that child is bound to see misery and suffering in many ways.He invents a strategy and playfully puts it across to his son wherein the whole scenario is in the form of a game.Guido's intent of hiding reality from his son only reflects his care and sincerity to educate Joshua about the positive aspects of life owing to the memories he would have in his childhood.Even at moments where the plot of the situation being a game were lost completely,he comically puts across it to the little one without disclosing the truth.
4)The movie's title is aptly coined since the protagonist is an epitome of happiness,a person who would be happy no matter what he encounters.Guido had lived a wholesome life in all aspects be it in his profession as a waiter,in his marriage, parenting and also during his time in sorrowful torture chambers. He had wishfully and willfully lived every moment of his life.A completely selfless man who never worried about his end yet managed to always lift up spirts of his wife and unknowingly fulfill the promise of a tank ride to his son.Even during uncertain times,he managed to bring in a sense of hope to his loved ones even if it meant risking his life.

3.Guido wanted to protect Joshua from the terrors of the concentration camp. If Joshua had known the reality the memories would have affected him till his last days. Guido plans a game for his son and claims that the prize was a tank which Joshua was fond off. This helped Guido to divert Joshua from the reality and stay happy. Even though Guido did not survive he achieved his goal of hiding the horrors from his son and also giving him a hope of life .
4.Life is not a bed of roses, it has both difficult and joyful period which makes it beautiful. This reality of life was beautifully captured in this movie. The first half was contented with humour , happiness and love. But the second half was a direct opposite- filled with tragdery. Through out the movie Guido never forgets to be happy and successfully manages to hide the truth of the holocaust from his son. He proved to be a doting father and husband by giving both his son and wife a ray of hope to live even though he did not make it through. Life is an unpredictable event and it is the difficulties which teach us important lessons and makes it BEAUTIFUL FABLE.

3.Guido tries to protect Joshua from realizing that they are in a concentration campby making him think it's a game for his birthday. The first person to 1000 points wins a real tank.Guido puts himself in risky situations to ensure his son's safety and finally he saved his son from the horrors and gave a life to his son.
4.In essence, Life is beautiful consist of two different plots joined together in one movie. The first half of the movie is about how Guido falls in love with Dora and tries to get her to fall in love with him.Guido wins Dora's heart and they marry, then they go on to having a beautiful baby boy. This film starts out as romantic comedy and then turns into a movie on the holocaust. Life is not always unicorns and rainbows, but it is the hard times that we go through that makes life beautiful. The relationship between father and son is also very strong in this movie. However, the ending of the movie worked better because he didn't know the game was made up.His innocence was what made the entire movie work.

ReplyDelete3)The reason that Guido made up the diversion for Joshua was on account of he was attempting to shield his child from all the remorseless reality that was going on around him in the camps. He is planning to achieve that he doesn't need Joshua to endure or fear everything that there going to live
4)No matter how much pain, life gets better when you have someone who cares about you. That's what makes life beautiful. While Guido was tortured in concentration camps, he kept his son safe in the camp with his intelligence. He even sacrificed his life. Nothing is more beautiful than a father's love for his son.
Set B
ReplyDelete3)Guido knows the situation there and Joshua being a small kid would not understand the real scene. So guido worked on a strategy to make it easier for Joshua to understand. He wanted to protect him in all ways and that was possible with Joshua's cooperation. In this way he was able to make Joshua never face the challenges and also bring fear in him. He played a good father and a very talented story teller. Joshua did enjoy the last part and that way the story was complete. Guido being a genius played the scenario to his advantage and made his child not to worry about anything and to believe only his father
4)The title is just perfect as it tells us how life can be handled and to overcome anything just to see a smile on our faces. To be honest life is hell a lot of beautiful but we never see it that way. We always complain for thee things we don't have and blame others for making it worse. This movie portrayed a life which had all type of emotions and difficulties and how it was the perspective in everything that mattered. It shows how rich or poor ,health or wealth, big or small nothing matters when it comes to love and care. All that matters is our heart and mind that as to coordinate and maintain our body at peace. Life is all about loving others, living with what we have and having a stable mind and needs. But we humans always want more and more and that ruins our internal and external peace. Life is simple and we have to handle it the same way. Guido is one such example. He saw the beauty in everything and had a smile on his face in all situation. He was a loving husband, adorable dad, and a genius person. There is nothing you need if u have good parents and just thee things necessary to lead a simple peaceful life. Thus indeed life is beautiful.

ReplyDelete3) Guido is a kind-hearted and energetic person. Guido has ready for joke at any situation. Even during his last life, he made his son laugh and pretended like it's just a game. He set up the game for joshua to shield his son from the grim realities of war. He used humor to hide his sacrifice. He made his son to believe that we get tankers at the end of the game.
4) Through this movie director says that "Learn to enjoy every minute of your life" whether it's good or bad times. Guido entertained people in all situations. At end, He made ultimate sacrifice for his family. So "life is beautiful" is appropriate title for this movie. Life is short learn to enjoy every moment and be happy....

Guido explains to Joshua that the camp is a complicated game in which Joshua must perform the tasks Guido gives him.He doesn't want Joshua to suffer or be afraid of everything that there about to live
4.Life is Beautiful because of the success it had in Italy.
This film starts out as a romantic comedy and then turns in to a movie on the Holocaust. It sounds completely crazy, but trust me it works because that’s how life is; we have our amazing moments and then we have our horrible ones. ReplyDelete3.Joshua was a small boy and that war scenario or Holocaust would definitely make him mentally ill. So Guido in order to protect his sons from the horrors of Jewish concentration camp setted up the terrifying background as a playful game . Guido did not want his son to judge life because of that one particular situation. He wanted his son to explore more and the know the true meaning of life.
4.Guido was a man of positivity. He really enjoyed his life with a full heart. He never failed to make others happy. The end of the movie would have been a sad ending but it conveyed a beautiful meaning. Even in the darkest terrors, life is beautiful! Guido lighted this up with his game like set up. The directed would have chosen this title in order make the audience remember that even in the horrors of a concentration camp if one could find beauty isn't our lives already blessed.

2) I have no idea why the director chose to hove Guido die at the end of the film. I feel that the film would have been even more hopeful at the end end, but I guess Guido died in the film to set reality back into the film. To prove that holocaust was indeed an extremely dark time in history, and no matter how hard you try to make in not as dark, it always going to terrible. ReplyDeleteGuido sets up the game for Joshua because he does not want his son to know about the struggles they are facing in the concentration camp. He told his son it was a game so as to divert his attention. In this way he would also not lose hope.
2)Guido was a cheerful and a very positive man. Throughout the film he would always see the positive and brighter side in any situation. His story is similar to everyone's life. Through this film we learn that no matter how difficult the situation is, there is always a positive and brighter side to it. If we start looking at situations in a different perspective, we would soon realise that life is indeed beautiful.

3. Guido set up the game for Joshua in an attempt to distract him from the abominations that were happening to the Jews at the concentration camps. Guido feared that his son would be scarred for life if he truly understood the torture that was taking place around him. As a father, Guido wanted his son to have a wonderful childhood but his circumstances were difficult and painful, in order to alleviate the pain Guido encouraged Joshua to focus on the game and went through great difficulty to convince him that game was in fact real.
4. The film is accurately entitled 'Life is Beautiful' because the protagonist Guido is the personification of the phrase 'looking on the bright side'. Guido truly believed in living life to the fullest and throughout the film, he is cheerful even despite his bleak and miserable circumstances. He understands that an individual's perspective of their situation is crucial in living a happy and complete life. Guido lived his life to make the lives of those who were around him happier. His rapturous personality was a symbol of hope that a better day would come soon. His actions always spread cheer to all those associated with him, through his eyes one could see that life is indeed beautiful, no matter what the circumstances.

1)The film shows signs that it talks about the Jewish holocaust. A few are listed below
a) The main protagonist of the film Guido orefice was identified as a Jew.
b) Guido's uncle was bullied by local Nazis
c) In a shop which Joshua ponits at, a board alarmed jews and dogs are not welcome there.
d) In the school scene the principal of that school talks about the pride of their race, mentioning it the superior race.
e) Army people deporting Guido, Joshua, Guido's uncle from the city
f) ill treatment of Jewish people, including untidy dormitory, killing old and children, slavery, etc
2) The director wanted to create an impact about the Nazi brutality. He wants to conduct the sorrow of Jews into the audience. The facial expressions he does to his hiding son to protect his son from the hard truth of losing his beloved father was heartbreaking. Despite knowing that he's gonna die in a moment, he didn't cry out of the grief of leaving his son and wife instead he didn't want to fear his son.
His death was not pictured directly . A soldier thrusts him into a dark place and then we hear few gunshots .
The director did not want to create a hatred among Nazi descendants who changed now. That's one reason he didn't show Guido's death.
Moreover he would have wanted general audience including women and children to see this film. That may also be a reason he didn't capture bloodshed and violence.
Overall this film is a piece of art that let's us feel the pain of thousands of Jew fathers like Guido orefice.
As the nazis intended to wipe out the jews, they brought a mass number of jews to the concentration camp. Apparently, these camps were the crux of the holocaust. In spite of these brutal events happening around Guido and his son(Joshua), Guido's main intention was so sow a positive seed in his son's heart so that he doesn't have to suffer a mental trauma which may create a deep impact in his mind and character. So, guido created a game to influence his son that he was tasked by the nazis to work and in turn he'd be rewarded with points. He told his son to work for 1000 points and win the tanker as a prize. Even though the camp drained exorbitant number of lives including Guido, he accomplished to pave a right path for his son in midst of the most cruel holocaust in human history.
ReplyDelete2. The holocaust must have inflicted the phrase "Life is cruel" in many of the jews. But,guido was a man who always looked on the bright side of life. He wanted his son to perceive the life as he did in a positive way. Guido accomplished in injecting a positive medicine into his son's life so that Joshua would apprehend life's brighter side. The story began with sweet romance and humor. So in a nutshell, this story is justified in being titled as "Life is beautiful".

ReplyDelete3.Guido sets up the game for joshua. so, that he doesn't know what is going on around him and where the Germans are taking him.Guido tries to keep his son away from the harsh truth of what is happening around him, because he don't want his son to get frightened of what is happening around him or what may happen to the children's of his age. So,
Guido is trying to make his son feel better, in a way that he is trying to make himself feel confident with hope.
4.'Life is beautiful' a perfect title isn't it. Its all about perspective.A life full of positive things doesn't make your life beautiful . What makes your life beautiful is how you handle things and overcome even the worst of your life . Every little things makes your life so beautiful. In future, when you look back into it and those memories will get a smile on your face.

ReplyDelete3. Guido doesn’t want Joshua to think about the horrible place he is at. He always likes to be positive with his son. Guido wanted to give Joshua hope for the future and protect him from the cruel reality happening around them in the camp. The elaborate game also keeps Guido from losing hope. Telling Joshua that the activities in the concentration camp are a game enables him to survive and cope with a situation that he is too young to understand. Preservation of innocence is an important aspect of upbringing because it promotes healthy, mature exposure to major issues and protects children from the damaging aspects of the world when they are still in their developmental stages. This protection is important because, at these young ages, children cannot possibly grasp the seriousness of these issues. Also, children are developing mentally. The world they grow up in will shape the person they grow into. No parent would choose to have their child shaped by the indecencies of the world and should choose to protect their innocence during these foundational stages. Guido teaches Joshua a lesson about finding a way to look at even the worst situations and make the best of them.
4. Although Guido's situation isn’t too pretty, that’s not what matters. What matters is that Guido is happy and proud of his life. Also, he makes his love feel good and happy. Despite the horrors of the concentration camps, the Jewish people survived. In addition, the father's love for his wife and son was the greatest gift he could give them. That at no matter what cost, the love and sacrifice Guido had for his family guarantees their future lives. So, there is dark and light in the world. To experience the bright shining of the light, we must also acknowledge, and sometimes even open ourselves up to the risk of facing the dark. So do believe Life is Beautiful!

So he doesn't want to say the sufferings and give the idea of superior race (which is mentioned in the movie). 4. This title is very apt for the main character, we want to change the perspective of the life, there are always positive and negative sides in the world we want to choose which one we want to see. So that he saved his little child by not exposing to the other side of the world. For other jews in the camp "life is cruel" but for the jousha it is different

1. We can see many signs that this film is going to be about the holocaust . In the first scene with uncle leo he was bullied for being a jew. The principal of the school also talks about the superiority of their race. The horse being painted green to tyrannize his uncle . Boards written in shops that Jews and dogs are not allowed followed by soldiers marching in road.
2.The director chose Guido to die at the end to send a powerful message about the harsh realities of life . If he had not died it would be like a fantasy story in which everyone would be happy in the end.
In the end he was moved to a confined space and gunshots were heard indicating his death . Even in his death he cared about the image he potrayed to his son,
smiled and accepted his death.

4) The Title Life is beautiful was perfect fit for this movie because Guido, the protagonist, shows us life through his eyes as they paint the picture of joy and love for life and many of the people around him. He demonstrates that life is beautiful in every capacity if you wish it to be because it is simply what you make it.

ReplyDelete3) Guido constructs an elaborate game to comfort and protect his son from the horrible environment that prevails in the camp. He then says that the first one to get thousand points will win a real tank , not a toy tank , which Joshua can drive all over the town. He also translates the orders of the Germans as the rules of the game to his son. He is hoping to hide the harsh truth from his son in order to make him happy.
4) The movie actually softens the Holocaust slightly to make the humour possible at all. "Life is beautiful" is not about Nazis and Fascists but about the human spirit which accepts whatever is good and hopeful from the wreckage of dreams. The director visualises a comedian as a hero who leads the life in a positive way by spending every moment of life happily and confidently even in an unpleasant environment. Hence the title is apt for the story.

Guido wanted his son's childhood to be beautiful as every other kid so he played a whole lot of drama.
4)"Life is beautiful " sounds good isn't? But is life really beautiful? Yes it is! The word beautiful doesn't only take the positive things , it does include how we overcome our negative situations and turn it into positive one.It sounds completely crazy, but it works because that’s how life is. we have our amazing moments and then we have our horrible ones. The fact that the movie is called Life is Beautiful because life is not always unicorns and rainbows, but it is the hard times that we go through that makes "Life Is Beautiful".

3.Guido wanted to protect his son from the concentration camp as they kill younger and old one in gas chamber. So guido told him it was game where the ultimate prize is tank and if they make 1000 points first they might get the tank for themselves. So it may actually prevent his hyperactive child being caught by germans. So Guido told the camp was all about game . To save his innocent child he came up with that idea.
4) The title "Life is beautiful" Is suited the most because the protagonist Guido one such person can make anyone happy even in hardest time. Guido reminds us to be happy in everyday life showing his positivity. One of time he was totally weak by the works in concentration camp but even though he put that charming smile to his son and told they gonna win the tank soon. This makes us to understand whatever we are going through are nothing and it's reminds how beautiful our life could once we took all our strains to a positive vibe. The whole movie gives you positive vibe about life. So it was most suitable title. Even though he was so tired and sad he never showed them to his son or wife. He always positive and comical.

ReplyDelete1.The movie actually softens the Holocaust slightly, to make the humor possible at all. In the real death camps there would be no role for Guido. But "Life Is Beautiful" is not about Nazis and Fascists, but about the human spirit. It is about rescuing whatever is good and hopeful from the wreckage of dreams. About hope for the future. About the necessary human conviction, or delusion, that things will be better for our children than they are right now.
2. It's the part of director touch,Life Is Beautiful shows how laughter can set the spirit free even in the most dire circumstances. The film also makes it clear that Guido is willing to do anything to keep his son from harm's way.It makes you cry while laughing, creates an emotional harmony. Guido is an amazing character and acting. The script describes the possible pain very well. Trying to make hell beautiful, Guido is an unforgettable character

ReplyDelete3) Guido is a great father.

He is easy going man with good sense of humour and most importantly he has the ability to be happy with what he has. Eventhough we think their life was not beautiful enough but the way they carried themselves in the hardship made it all beautiful.

ReplyDelete3. All the tasks given by Guido were mere distractions. He wanted his son to be unaware of the situation at the camp as he's just a child. He wanted to protect his son from knowing the miserable reality as it might traumatize him for the rest of his life. He just wanted his son to stay happy.
4. Life is never easy for anybody. All have their own share of ups and downs. Guido is a man of positivity. He is always so cheerful no matter what the situation he is in. One's perspective is all that matters. Despite all the cruelties we face, I understand that life is still beautiful.

ReplyDelete3.In the movie, life is beautiful Guido sets up a game for his son Joshua to protect him from the horrifying truth about what is happening in the concentration camp , like he did all along about the cruel discrimination they faced as Jews. In order to make his son feel safe and happy even in this grave situation in the camp, he told his son , if he stays silent , didnt cry for mother and obeyed all the rules in this "trip" and get 1000 points , he will get a tank as a gift . His idea worked and his son doesn't realise it's not a game and he accomplished what he hoped for ,to protect his childhood from these traumatic incidents.
4.The main protagonist in this film , Guido lives everyday as " life is beautiful" , which is the inspiration for the movie title. He makes even his worst circumstances positive and makes it joyful for himself and others . when they were taken forcibly into the concentration camp, he made it a game for his son to protect him and make him happy. Even at the end when he was on his way to death, he didn't break free from the game character and made a funny walk for his son to smile. Even Though his life wasn't easy as we see , he made it a priority to make it beautiful.

ReplyDelete3.Guido set up the game for joshua in an attempt to distract him from the war scenario or holocaust would definitely make him mentally ill . Even during his last life he made his son laugh and pretended like it’s just a game . He wants his son to lead a positive life and he is hoping to hide the real remorseless reality from him and make him feel good and better.
4.”Life is beautiful “ the title itself narrates the story . Its all about positivity .the first half was so easy going full of happiness and love.but the second half it was rough and they entered the world of holocaust.but he manages to be positive and he trys to make his son feel good . This showed us that life can be beautiful irrespective of the situation and life has to move on with a positive intent.

ReplyDelete3.The reason that Guido made up the diversion for Joshua was on account of he was attempting to shield his child from all the remorseless reality that was going on around him in the camps.so, in order to explain to his son where they were he came up with a game. If they behaved properly and followed all the rules they would win a war tank at the end. He is planning to achieve that he doesn't need Joshua to endure or fear everything that there going to live.
4.The original title for this movie is La Vita e Bella that was then translated from Italian to English to Life is Beautiful because of the success it had in Italy. Life is Beautiful is one of those films that one person does everything for, sort of like the Tyler Perry movies.
In essence Life is Beautiful consist of two different plots joined together in one movie; the first half of the movie is about how Guido a Jewish man falls in love with a Princess named Dora and tries to get her to fall in love with him. Guido wins Dora’s heart and they marry, they then go on to having a beautiful baby boy named Giosie.
The second half is a heartfelt story of a father protecting his young son's innocence in spite of everything horrible going on within the setting of a concentration camp.but the fact that a father decides to protect his child's innocence from the horrors of a camp by pretending it's all one big game, from playing hide and seek to "making fun of" whatever in the camp, is truly sad in itself.

ReplyDeletejust a Good one, not a Great one !!
This movie definitely has its moments but overall it is not more than a small charming melodrama which is worth watching but nothing too special.
You can see why it was a success, but it wasn't that good...
I had heard so much about this movie for so many years until I finally watched it. The first act is very different than the second, which is, in my opinion, superior by far. The first act contains too much unnecessary comedy and is not taken seriously. At all. But then there's the wonderful second act. It shows us the love between a father and son and how far a man is willing to go to achieve the happiness of his son. The second act is taken a lot more seriously and I consider it to be excellent. That being said I do think this movie is very uneven, and therefore overrated. But because of the great second part of the film, I would recommend Life is Beautiful

ReplyDelete3. Guido doesn’t want Joshua to get scared by knowing the reality. Guido wanted to protect him from the cruel reality happening in the camp. So he said Joshua that the activities in the camp are just a game. The world in which children grow up will shape the person they grow into. So, Guido set up this game to give Joshua hope and to protect his innocence. Guido teaches Joshua a lesson for his future too. That is, to find a way even at the worst situations and make the best of them.
4. Guido is happy about his life. Dora volunteers to get on the train to be with her family. This shows her love for her family. Guido is positive even at the worst situations. The love and sacrifice Guido had for his family guarantees their future lives. We could manage even the worst situations when our loved ones are with us. Life is Beautiful !

3)Guido knows the situation there and Joshua being a small kid would not understand the real scene.
